Ste can easily be extended to Stephen with the addition of four letters, it’s not being changed to Simon. Things aren’t being changed, just corrected.
Yes but also Stefan, StevenPrivate Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA0 -
I can't quite believe in this day and age you thought an airline would be cool with your name on your booking not matching the name in your passport.0

It can also be extended to Stefan, Stephan, Stephanos, Stephanie. None of whom are OP. Full given names are used for a reason Ste is not OP's given name.
By your logic I can book a tickets using the name 'N' and expect them to change it to my full name at the airport and let me board, even though 'N' doesn't match my passport, after all my full name is only a 3 letter extension.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Just done a dummy search for London to Chile flights on the mobile version of Opodo and at the point when you start entering each name the words "As appears on travel document (e.g. Amelia)" appears.
I assume the same happens on the web version.
So the sister of the OP missed this warning. Four times.0 -
Looking forward to booking my next flights under "McLovin"0
