Re. POFA, google Protection of Freedoms Act. Should be easy enough to find the relevant paragraphs.

Where it says:

Hi All

I need some swift advice if anyone can please as Ive been ill and not been able to address this
so, the car hire company sent my personal details 9 name, address etc) to Highview parking and they sent me Charge Notice dated 11/3/19, recd 13/3/19.

They quote " having check details with DVLA" - which they clearly didnt( As my licence has a different address) we are writing to you as you were the registered keeper at teh time of parking or teh registered keeper has named you as the driver etc etc "

Thery go on to say " if you were not the driver, you should provide us with teh name and address of teh driver ....etc etc

So, I need to appeal this URGENTLY as its been 24 days since the date of teh latter or 21 days from date of receipt

QUestions

1. Which letter on here should I use ( bearing in mind its a hire company car - ie does it need any modifications ( if someone knowledgeable could cut and paste here that would be extra helpful and in return I shall go do a good dead for someone else ☺

2. Appeals - viw appealpcn.co.uk or do you think by posy is better

It is not the address on your licence but that of your V5C that matters. Still, go to NEWBIE thread, post # 1 and scroll down past the blue template and use one of the Edna Basher appeals.

AS It was a Hire car, no V5 document was involved

However, I cant , for heh life of me, and Ive been at it for 47 minutes now , find the " NEWBIE thread, post # 1 and scroll down past the blue template and use one of the Edna Basher appeals

Don't panic, you've already found the template you need, it's the one in your first post here!

Yes, appeal online using the email address given on the PCN.

There will most likely be a drop-down box with the options: 'Registered Keeper', 'Driver' etc. Do not select driver. If there's a 'hirer' option, select that. Otherwise, just 'keeper' will do as a hirer is also a day to day keeper.

When it's good to go, take a screen shot of the page with the drop-down option you've selected before you hit 'send', because it sometimes defaults back to 'driver'.

Don’t worry what you put in the drop-down box as long as it is not ‘driver’. But just be vigilant as to what the drop-down is showing immediately before you press the ‘Submit’ button as there have been cases reported where the box has defaulted to ‘driver’ at the last minute.

Take a screen shot just before submission.

I lodge my appeal etc using the relevant letter and received this back from Highview today

What's peoples opinions as to what to do - reply, don't reply etc etc

Thank you for your correspondence relating to your Parking Charge Notice (PCN).



The representations stated in your correspondence have been noted and considered. Please forward to us the full name and address of the driver at the time this charge was incurred so that we can update our records accordingly.
