PPI Claim Rejected by Ombudsman

Options
Hi, I had a HP Loan with Lombard Tricity Finance in 1997 for an Appliance which had PPI automatically added. I complained to Santander as they took over Lombard Tricity Finance, after many months writing and phoning they said I could take it up with the FOS, which I did. The claim was rejected by the FOS as they said, the couldn't consider my complaint as the PPI was sold before 2005, furthermore the loan was taken out before 7 Sept 2004, the date when Santander took responsibility for Lombard Tricity Finance. - Is there anything I can do other than going to court?

I wouldn't fancy your chances much if you did go to court. It was a pre regulation sale.

I wouldn’t spend any time or money thinking you have a hope in hell of taking this to court.

The simple fact Is that as it was an unregulated activity they do not need to consider the complaint - as confirmed by FOS, whilst technically a court could consider this the burden of proof would be on you as it would be safe to say that Santander will hold little or no records.
