Car Broken into while in Garage Care - Who is Liable

  • the garage said they are getting quotes for the 5 others cars that had the same happened so I am waiting to see what they said. Im hoping that they do it cheaper for the situation...
  • I'd be cautious to have it fixed by that garage - maybe they have a little racket going on. ;)
  • I have just reported it to the police (101) and first they said that the garage has not reported it yet...

    and second the police office said the garage should pay of it (I toke this with a pinch of salt of course... )

    Technically, if the crime happened outside their property, it's not something they have to report and certainly not instantly.

    As for the police advice, you're right to ignore it. They may not know of the exact circumstances and if they do, the advice you've received is incorrect.

I spoke to the garage and they have got a second hand window and will fit it free. The window is only costing me £40. They struggled to get it but I am very thankful to the garage for helping.
