Car Loan 1986 - who was the finance with?

Options
I had a loan in order to purchase a new car in 1986/87.

I would like to check if I had PPI, but I do not remember who the finance was with.

Does anyone know who the finance company would have been when purchasing from Vauxhall back in 1986?

Thank you for any advice.

Don't waste your time with this.

It's 33 years ago the chances of any finance company keeping records from then is remote to say the least.

Most dealers deal with a number of finance companies not just one (particularly for used cars). GMAC was Vauxhall's own finance company.

The dealer would be who you would need to complain to anyway (in the highly unlikely event you tracked down whether or not you had PPI). Dealers would not have been regulated in 1986 as its 20 years prior to regulation of GI sales, so even if the dealer is still in business they could just dismiss your complaint.

You need to let this go I'm afraid
