Smashed window!
Can anyone help? Basically ive had my passenger window broken by a vandal. Ive found out through my insurance (bell) it would cost £95 excess with autoglass. Now I would go ahead normally but reading a lot of forums and online it seems bell falls under admiral insurance and it seems if I pay the excess I loose all my ncb (currently 9 years) is this correct? I have protected ncb (which says I can have two claims without any change) its all a bit confusing and dont want to obviously loose my ncb.
I understand every policy is different but if anyone has some insight would be greatly apprecaited.

When I worked a Admiral Group many years ago, Bell policy conditions were different from Admiral or Diamond or Elephant. Best to check your policy booklet. You can always ask them if you are still unclear after that.0

Ring them and ask them. I'm with Admiral and had my front windscreen replaced last autumn for the £95 excess. Renewed my policy in December, NCB unaffected.0

Policy booklet not very clear , ill call them, but someone also told me just telling them can affect policy renewall price.0 -
Ask them on webchat as if you are a prospective customer, then.0

If you're protected NCB then it shouldn't lose you your NCB... Might still see premiums rise slightly either way, having reported it to insurance.
Depending on the car it can be an easy enough DIY job sometimes, often at much less cost if you source a second hand window0 -

When I claimed for similar in the past when my car was broken into there was no effect on my NCB. When I've had it happen before with old cars I've just replaced the window myself from the scrappies as it was infinitely cheaper than the excess, typically around £20 or so.This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
