Shredded PPI cheque

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I had a successful claim with Capital One, who issued me a cheque which I managed to shred in error. I contacted them today, they advised me they would reissue the cheque and quoted 21 days. Has anyone else had a similar experience with asking for a cheque to be reissued? Many thanks.

A similar experience with a cheque being shredded? No, but I threw away a twenty pound note by mistake once.
They've agreed to re-issue the cheque, what exactly are you asking about?

They have to make sure you don't cash the first cheque

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
