If you did stop paying the mortgage, would your soon-to-be-exwife be able to pay the mortgage? Depending on how long this all takes, if she can't then wouldn't it trash both her and the OP's credit rating?
The house is in negative equity - so it's not as simple as selling the house - the OP & the STBX will need to come to some agreement on how to clear the negative equity.
Personally I would take what maintenance you have to pay & deduct the nursery fees (do they get any free hours?) and cost of any classes - your STBX can't have two bites of that cherry.0 -

I think she would be able to pay the mortgage yes but would probably then force her to go full time and increase the nursery fees. Nursery fees are in region £200 a week. I don't want to see my kids suffer.
Working out on gov website its £83 a week I would be due her.0
