RBS £150 account switch

Morning Everyone,


My other half requested a current account switch last Friday 01/03 using CASS to RBS to gain the £150 switching bonus. During application ID's were uploaded and the application was approved with a switching date 08/03.


Much to our annoyance RBS contacted us yesterday saying they couldn't accept an electronic copy of the ID and needed to see the physical document. With our nearest branch almost 20 miles away this cannot be done until Saturday 09/03 due to work commitments.


Will my OH still be eligible for the switching bonus, as the switch was requested 01/03 way before the 08/03 cut off, even with the "delay" caused by RBS in requesting/accepting her documents

If you cant do it in time, you can always switch to Natwest. Basically the same offer.

That finished on 15th Feb I believe?

OH applied on 01/03 which is well inside the 08/03 deadline, just unsure if its the date of application or the switch date that RBS go by

A quick look at their website suggests that the application has to be made by 08Mar and switch needs to complete by 12Apr (meaning it needs to commence no later than 04Apr). I would argue that since the application was made before the deadline, even if it was approved after the deadline then you should still be eligible for the incentive, provide you complete your switch by the cut off date.
