This makes quite interesting reading if you can plough through what was said and what is merely being assumed:

Jumping the gun a bit, but I don't think that are far from the truth.
Now would be a good time to sell, they need to invest in ebay which is not so good for the investors pockets. I think ebays peaked its peak.
Keeping it at its current level is probably as good as its going to get. If they dont start investing its going to be downhill.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Ebay have a history of two things:
a) selling off chunks of their business to capitalise on growth, but I'm not sure how selling the whole lot off would ultimately benefit them unless they have fingers in other businesses. I suppose it would depend on what force the shareholders can exert.
b) buying up other auction sites that start to make any headway - basically if they don't buy a rival then it is rubbish and not considered a threat. As far as I am aware they haven't actually had to buy out any other businesses recently so either nothing is bothering to challenge them or they are protecting the core business.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
