Halifax - No resolution

Hi, I tried in 2017 to reclaim my PPI from Halifax on a mortgage. I used the Resolver service and they basically refuted my claim . I then escalated it with the ombudsman and that failed as well but with no information or reasoning. I don't have the policy details or anything else as it was so long ago (1994 'ish) . The policy was sold to me on the basis that it would strengthen my application for the mortgage.
Is there anything i can do ?

You would’ve been given a final response letter from Halifax with their reasoning, and latter an assessment letter from FOS with THEIR reasoning... not sure what more reasoning you need?!
You’re only other recourse is through the courts, however before you throw your money at this fruitless endeavour consider that both Halifax and FOS have already rejected your complaint... so why would a court side with you?0 -
I'm trying to locate all my old emails pertaining to this and cant find any email that says my case has been dismissed, only one asking me if i want to escalate it to the ombudsman. Should i restart the case ? When i log into Resolver it only has details of my claim and no response (positive or negative) from anyone. I actually started this process in 2017 and lost interest to be honest0

What makes you think Halifax or Ombudsman would reply by e-mail?
If Halifax gave you the option of going to FOS then that ship has sailed.0 -

It was all handled via the resolver portal. Why would their communication rejecting my claim not be in there ?0

You should contact the Bank and enquire whether they have already rejected a complaint from you in 2017. You'll only be able to "re-start" the complaint if it wasn't dealt with in the first place. Otherwise, your complaint is already over.
Do not use Resolver to contact the Bank..0 -

Because it's a third party website that harvests your data to sell (anonymously) to customers who want information on complaint handling. The bank and the FOS would have written to you, they would not have sent any information solely through resolverSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

I’m curious as you now appear to be contradicting what your original thread alleged - that your complaint has been refuted by both Halifax and the FOS... now you appear to be saying that you have no idea if your complaint was rejected or not. It clearly cannot be both!0

I'm lost on what the position is.
A complaint was raised but rejected. Then referred to the FOS and rejected. (the most common outcome with MPPI). However, neither the FOS or Halifax gave a reason. That does not make sense. Both Halifax and the FOS will give written responses as to why they reject.
