PPI: Added to Previous Extant Mortgage?

Options
Hi All,

I had a six year mortgage on my current address (mortgage free now). I will be claiming PPI for it.

My husband is unwell and so it is down to me to deal with everything.

Would we be likey to have been missold PPI on the previous address (purchased in 1975 and sold in 2001)? Would PPI have been offered to us late in that mortgage?

Best wishes,

Jennifur

Only you know whether you were offered and bought PPI. If you can;t remember, ask the lender.

But PPI is not offered sold on addresses. It is sold on products.

If you have have reasons why you believe it was mis sold, send them to the lender.

    a) you are unlikely to have held MPPI in 1975.
    b) it is unlikely you would have been mis-sold PPI if you did as the misselling didnt really start taking place until after 1988 (and mostly from 90s in reality).
    c) even if you had it, records will be long gone.

PPI is a product type. You dont claim PPI. You make a complaint about a PPI missale.

Most MPPI complaints are rejected and you can still buy MPPI today (one of only two types of PPI). Did you buy the mortgage AND insurances via the bank or via a mortgage broker/estate agent? (it makes a difference)
