Who was the executor ? What solicitor dealt with the estate ?
They would have distributed the insurance.
If either or both have been complicit in something shady I would certainly be pushing for answers.

There was no Will just the insurance policy but all 4 needed to sign to complete the claim.
Don't know the solicitors who dealt with it all. To my understanding to save money they have completed all of the estate them selfs. No property involved.

There was no will, no executive so the eldest sister took responsibility.

  • Contact the insurance company and tell them that you believe your signature was forged. Tell them that you did not sign the document.

I have been checking with the .gov website everyday and my mum has not been entered..How is a executive selected in this case? The probste office advised me in some cases probate or grants are not always needed when dealing with an estate if under a certain value.

    "Search for probate records

You can search for a probate record in England and Wales online or by post.

Search online for a probate record
Search online for probate records for people who died after 1857.

You can also order copies of probate records online. Each copy costs £10.

It can take up to 10 working days to receive your documents.

A new probate record will be online approximately 14 days after probate has been issued."

Thank you, I have checked the gov website many times, this was one of the reasons it made me think about the time scale for probate, As my mum passed in May 2018 and the other 3 sisters have had the payout.
