Just to add that no matter how well we all store seeds, we are also at the mercy of the original supplier and the supply chain.
And, of course, you can never be sure if a bad result is “tool or workman” unless you do a germination test as mentioned above. Last year, on a whim, I bought four different types of poppy seeds in B&Q (poppy seeds !!!!!!, probably the easiest and most reliable weed on the planet!) and not a single plant resulted! :rotfl:0 -
I store mine in two really useful storage boxes around 3 litres. I have two one for veg/herb and another for flowers, works for me. I keep moving them back and forth between home (electric propagator with grow lights) and allotment and greenhouse/ beds later in the year April time when ground starts to get a little warmer
really useful boxes are one of best plastic storage boxes on the market really solid construction and I use these a lot in other sizes for storage of electronics goods, and power tools0 -
I absolutely love really useful boxes and use them for everything! In fact my seeds are in them at the moment. Not airtight though but I am not convinced it needs to be after hearing everyones comments.0
