Service Book missing stamp

Just bought a two year old Honda from a reputable dealer (not Honda).
The car has three year warranty (can pay for a 4th year) the dealer has serviced the car so the service book has his stamp for the 25,000 mile service point - the 12,500 service point is unstamped - will this invalidate the Honda warranty? The dealer says no!

Do you have a receipt for the service?
What does Honda's servicing computer say?
Any other evidence that the service was done?

The dealer will tell you anything you need to hear to get the sale - sounds like you already have bought it though.

Speak to a Honda main dealer and ask them.

If it was just a case of having a stamp in the book everyone would buy a rubber stamp kit - the records are computerised and a main dealer can check.

Given the car is a Honda, I doubt you will ever need to call on the warranty, but check with a Honda dealer to see if they will honour the warranty just so you know. I doubt they will, if there is no evidence that the car was serviced around 12,500 miles by a VAT registered garage.

As a non-Honda dealer has serviced the car at 25,000, I would definitely get a Honda main dealer to service the car at 37,500. This will reduce the risk that important service items have been missed. Any recall issues can also be picked up.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.
