Strongest weed killer

Hi, we need some help please. What’s the strongest weed killer to spray on a large paved back yard where huge weeds are growing? The slabs were put down years ago without any suppressant so my daughters garden looks like a jungle. There are big gaps where the weeds grow freely.

    Hi,

google 'Rosate', it's a concentrate, dilute to required strength, best sprayed on 'living' weeds, so cut down/remove as much of the jungle as you can and then spray, takes about a week/ten days to get to the roots.

Once you've got the weeds under control I find that brushing rock salt into the gaps helps to keep weeds down.

It is very important to kill these weeds slowly, any weed killer containing 360g/l or more of glyphosate will do the job. This is a professional strength but can be bought from Amazon without a certificate

By the way, don't be tempted to make an extra-strong concentration when you dilute, thinking it will kill them more effectively. It won't! The partial early-death of surface leaves and stems limits uptake and transport to the roots, actually reducing the overall efficacy.

Beset concentration is as the packet suggests. Under certain circumstances, a more dilute concentration can be more effective, but that's complex.

I use Clinic Ace, which is a glyphosate weedkiller, and which always works very effectively.

While 360g/l glyphosate may be a professional weedkiller, it's still one of the safest products from an environmental POV and buying it as concentrate is far more MSE than purchasing ready mix.

As Dafty points out, there is no point in altering the dosage to make it stronger, but the public still search for the 'strongest' as per the thread title.

There's a lot of confusion about chemical weedkillers and the government isn't really keen to enlighten anyone, as it's easier to just ban stuff, even when there is no adequate substitute (see the Asulox fiasco). The problem then is that more people will go for 'home recipes' from the Internet.

Anyway, that's why I got my pro certificate recently, just in case. ;) It was either that, or stockpile enough to last till I'm no longer sentient.....and (I hope :D) the cert was cheaper!
