Insurance linked to mortgage

Options
When my wife and I remortgaged in 2002 to change from an interest only to a repayment one we were told that I had to take a critical illness policy with the mortgage. As we cleared the mortgage 4 years ago and cancelled the policy we are wondering if this is the same as ppi mis selling and as a result entitled to a refund?

Critical illness cover is critical illness cover. It is not payment protection insurance. Normally, the CIC is coupled with life assurance when covering a mortgage.

What makes you think that covering your mortgage would be a missale?
