Thank you for replies. We will be doing the parking and making the rear garden more useable and seeing how we feel after that.
As people have mentioned, if it isn’t the right house then it isn’t the right house. We are a step closer to finding what we want in a house after the experience and I would have thought the house would sell without too much difficulty.0 -
We moved to a house on a (very) main road some 30 years ago. It was a lot cheaper than equivalent ones round the corner.
The noise meant you couldn't have a chat sometimes on the front drive. The back garden was fine though. We moved the main bedroom to the back and stayed there 23 years.0 -

Mine is just under 5m so I could get about 10 of them in the "set back"
Maybe you should just fill in half the olympic sized swimming pool and use that as a drive.
As someone else mentioned there appears to be a separation between this thread and reality.Your life is too short to be unhappy 5 days a week in exchange for 2 days of freedom!0
