Ruling out PPI claim

Options
Am I right to conclude I don’t have a PPI claim? I’ve had numerous credit and store cards over the years but have always paid in full, never paying any interest. I’ve never been overdrawn. I can see no mention of payment protection on any mortgage agreement. Otherwise I only remember having one loan, with Lloyds bank, towards buying a car. I’m searching for that paperwork but it was years ago. Apart from that car loan, is there anything else I should be looking at? I feel like I’m missing out!

    Missing out?

If the cards were paid off every month you wont have paid any ppi charges even if you had a policy. So relax and be happy, you're not "missing out" in that regard.

Not enough details for anyone to comment on the mortgage and car loan.

So, even if you had it, you would not have paid anything.

Not that you would expect to anyway.

That is a strange point of view. Most people were not missold PPI. So, you are in the majority. You are not missing out as people get refunds of what they paid. If you paid nothing, you get nothing. So, you end up in the same position one way or the other.

  • Thank you both. There was no PPI on my car loan either. For the last few years, the unsolicited phone calls and TV advertising from claims companies have made me think I should be “taking action” and that the impending deadline meant I would miss out on claiming money I was entitled to. Clearly I’m not. I feel enriched by that knowledge; it’s a weight off my mind. :j
