Morning all
It's horrible weather here and due to get worse this afternoon.
DGD is still here till after lunch, although she did say she wanted to stay till tomorrow night . She wasn't very happy when I told her it was back to school tomorrow morning. At the moment she is painting with Mr Fix It as he's quite a good artist. Me ? ........ I'm better at colouring in :rotfl:. I had a weird moment this morning when I had to explain water displacement to DGD . A couple of weeks ago it was the difference between dying and dyeing, she's so inquisitive :j. Hope she doesn't ask me too hard a question in the future, 'cos I'll be stumped.
Don't know if Dad will be over for lunch in this weather but I shall cater for him anyway, it's only a few extra roast pots and veg. We are having roast pork today but I will do some extra yorkies for DGD.
I don't think much else will be done today, so a bit of t'internet, gaming or films for later.
Poppy you are often in my thoughts. Take care of yourself xx
OL sending healing vibes for your DD.
TA and Csarina please come back. Misunderstandings happen when you are not face to face. You are both greatly missed.
taff I wonder if your cat has more than one home ? They're pretty crafty and will try to get away with several homes if allowed. I "adopted" a Siamese who used to come in with my cats like he owned the place and he stayed the night. It turns out he had a perfectly good home elsewhere.... cheeky thing !! :rotfl:
Stay safe in storm Freya, especially those who have to travel tomorrow for work or appointments.
We are battening down the hatches, well we will after we have seen our little guest off the premises :rotfl:
Thinking of all the poorly people.
Hugs to all

Afternoon all. Been shopping this morning before the expected bad weather sets in . I don't like the wind howling down the chimney, it makes me feel uneasy.
I have promised DH a Victoris Sandwich if he will line the tins for me. He is quick to line tins for me if he is getting cake
Thanks for starting the thread HH Glad you feel better for a rest. Safe journey Nelski for tomorrow. OL sending positive vibes for your daughter.
Hugs to all who would like one. Thinking of all the poorlies. Keep safe and warm ."It's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world"0 -
My long-lie turned out well! The nasty weather has not moved away and we're waiting for the tail end of Storm Freya, it may not reach here but I hope that others are ready for it.
I spent a couple of hours watching two episodes of Grantchester - I've never seen it before, somehow I missed knowing about it.
The wind was so strong last night that my glass topped garden table has been blown about six feet. As it's heavy I leave it out, it's not damaged just moved along a bit.
My cleaner is coming tomorrow so I've been tidying up papers. I scan on my phone and then email to myself. There has to be day in the garden to burn a load of papers soon.
I miss all the 'regulars' here!0 -
Evening chums been so busy flying around I seem to have missed things.Eldest Dd and OH and her ma-in-law are back from NYC and left snow behind them so maybe we might get some later this week DGS danny says New York has an 8" snow warning for tonight !!!
weather is pretty rubbish after the smashing sun we had this week but I guess march winds etc
I went to Bluewater yesterday and got DGGD her birthday present as she is one this month ,cna't believe where this year has vanished to. I aso had a very nice freebie pot of tea and a delicious piece of cake with my John Lewis voucher The cake was dark chocolate, orange and red currant so I had at least two of my five a day fruits
Glad I went early though as it gets so packed there and very noisy as well (it makes my hearing aid whistle)
Glad to get out and back home again though.
Just about to go to youngest DDs for dinner as I do every week,I made a mincemeat tart to take with me for pudding which will go down well I think
Hope everyone is safe and well and batten down the hatches as the storm looks nasty
be warm and safe chums
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Hi everyone
Spent my morning with my dad as usual whilst my mam went to church. Then youngest DD texted to ask if Id like to have my little grand daughter this afternoon.....all to myself...of course I wanted to! Had a lovely afternoon just being a granny. Its so lovely having her home and not having to travel every weekend just to spend an hour with her. DD is managing really well and coping with the oxygen equipment. I must admit I was a bit nervous about having her on my own with her on the oxygen, but no problems and now it won't worry me again. It's something I've just never had to deal with before. Mind she might be tiny but she was so wriggly when I was trying to put a clean nappy on her...her little legs were everywhere!
Yesterday my little nephew who's almost 2 met the baby for the first time....to say he was unimpressed is an understatement....his little face was a picture!
Hope everyone has had as nice a weekend as they could....I'm going to wash my tea things up then run a nice bath0
