This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning

Looks like there are a few sleepy heads today I managed till 6 but that was 9 hours sleep :j Guessing thats going to have to do me till next weekend :D

Bit worried about this storm on its way to us as I have to travel to Yorkshire tomorrow and it seems if i stay over Ill get it today or if I leave first thing I will catch it then too. I think I will risk tomorrow as I really do detest travelling on a Sunday. May well regret that but hey ho.

So yesterday my nothing day turned into a bottom the kitchen day so I now have a lovely tidy kitchen but not so tidy lounge. Today I have some prep work to do for next week but will also squeeze in some Sunday Brunch and Dancing on Ice .

Food was pulled pork and bbq sauce with peas and jackets. Little bit left so will have that today too

Hope everyone stays safe today and that our wonderful TA comes home soon. I miss you already as my stupid o'clock in the morning friend :) xx

    Morning everyone

I enjoyed my chilled day on the sofa yesterday and feel so much better for it. I still feel quite tired though so I’m going to do the same today and then hopefully I will have a bit more energy next week.

The waste from the basin in the bathroom suddenly started to leak yesterday afternoon, so my brother is going to call over at some point to fix that for me.

Dinner will be something with salad today. I have got plenty of salad bits that need using up, so I will find something in the freezer to go with it, or open a tin of tuna.

I feel like I am stuck in some sort of limbo at the moment where I am waiting to heal from the surgery before I can start the radiotherapy. It feels strange after the way everything happened so fast and was so full on after the diagnosis. Although, it is good because it is giving me a much needed breathing space.

Have a good a day everyone.

Good morning, and thanks Nelski for starting off.

It looks to be a nice morning here, though I don't know about the temperature. Last night was wet as per the forecast.

Not much on the agenda today, but we really must get out in the garden, it's a disgrace.
I did some ironing last night, and might finish that off.

I am going to a shop fairly near us that sells a lot of craft and haberdashery stuff. A few weeks ago I put some different curtains up at the landing window, and they need something, they are too plain against the plain wall, they look drab. Anyway I was in this shop yesterday and saw this trim stuff, so I want to take a bit of curtain material to see if the trim matches.

So sorry to hear about your daughter OL, what a worry. Hope she'll be ok.

Thoughts to the sad and poorly, Taff, Poppy, and Snoozer's Steve.
    Take care folks

    Morning everyone,

Sorry to hear that your daughter is poorly OL hope the next bit of news is more positive.
    Enjoy your day Holly

All is trundling along here, princess pony is shedding hair like mad so I’m permanently covered in the stuff and the inside of my car is pretty  oh well, I’ll clean it all up once she’s finished.
Not many plans for today, quiet day at home but my beloved has had a busy old week work wise so it will do him good to have some downtime.

Hugs to all poorlies, have a good day folks x

    Good morning all

Thank you for starting us off Nelski, take care, that drive doesn't sound good.

    Holly
    enjoy your day.

OL must be so worrying for you.

Haven't slept much again, usual go to bed and I'm wide awake as soon as my head touches the pillow, think it was about 3 before I got to sleep. I know it's stupid, all these thoughts about things I cannot control or change.

Weather forecast looks bad so I think a lazy day.

    Take care all

    Morning everyone.

It's been a truly dreadful night here. The gusting winds and torrential rain battered the house the entire time and still going. I've been sleeping fitfully, waking every time a huge blast came along. It must be blowing over soon, surely.

I'm still in bed trying to catch up on sleep. I'm avoiding looking at the clock as I'm sure I should be wide awake even though I'm dopey and lethargic.

Sorry to read about your daughter OL, I hope all's well soon.

Now I'm hoping for a little more sleep. I wish everyone a peaceful and happy Sunday.

Wet and very windy here (the weather not me :D ) so glad we got the hedge cut yesterday it looks much tidier now and lets in a lot more light to the conservatory.

We also did the shopping yesterday, well OH did while I cleared out the loft space off of the bedroom so all jobs ticked off yesterday which means we can have a lazy day today :j

I have a bit of brisket to cook for dinner so will go and put that in the SC after this with some onions and carrots will do enough for tomorrow too.

TA come back and post please we are worried about you and miss you xx

OL hope your dd is ok xx

    Have good days all xx

Morning all. Well, the Chinese was lovely, was very full, we didn't play games, but we did watch a programme about blacksmiths involved in some kind of making implements challenge which was interesting. And we chatted and laughed. All good.
The cat had an episode so now we will have to get a litter tray at some point..He really is more or less living here now so we have acquired a cat...He's really pretty, really affectionate and company for me, we'll see how long he decides to stay.
Weather is pants, so today there is nothing but sofa and meeting a couple of friends for coffee later on. DIdn't manage the seed boxes yesterday so am doing that in a bit, after watching Nelskis husband and some more chateau shennanigans.

Holly, snap, and I also worry that due to the length in between the ops and radiotherapy what is hapening internally in the meantime, it's another month before that is sorted. I am going to be having some treatment to prevent osteoporosis except the worst case scenario will bring that on in certain bits. Another thing to be terrified of. I am looking forward though to not having constant appointments for a while.
Go careful Nelski. OL, fortifying thoughts for you , hope she gets treament and it's not what you think. Scarlet, haberdashery shopping! my second favourite type after SM wandering, and equal to art/staionery shops..hope you find a good trim! You could also put a contrating band of material on the bottom if you can't find a trim that works. SO, tried meditating or mindfulness or something that can take your worry and channel it into something else? The mindfullness app wasn't bad. Happy birthday to your OH bozwood.
    Wotcha absentees...Supreme Sunday!

Actually, can csarina and TA both come back? Storms in teacups spring to mind, it's easy to misunderstand the written word sometimes, happens all the time on the PPI board, people think we're being rude or taking the michael [ although to be fair, very occasionally there are some who do] but most of it is not interpreting what they are reading in the way that was intended on writing...
