Problems printing photos

When I print my photos from my computer onto 6"x4" photo paper the picture is being cropped so tops of heads are slightly cut and theres white borders on 2 sides of the paper? any suggestions?

6x4 is a 3:2 aspect ratio which is the standard for 35mm film, not all Digital Cameras use this though. I believe some use 4:3 like a traditional TV so they are a different shape.

When you print there should be some sort of option to fit to page so you don't lose anything. Alternatively what happens if you look at them in print preview before printing?You could try reducing the size you are printing at slightly to fit htem to the page, i.e. print them at 90% of full size (obviously experiment to get the right size).
