Hi - Just updated to a J6 from J3, on which I was able to monitor my laptop emails. Can't remember how I set that up initially, and can't find any straightfoward instructions about how to achieve the same (most suggestions include the ability to transfer files etc. which I don't want and make the process terminologically terminal). Just want to be able to check my emails when out and about, so if anyone can recommend a program/process that facilitates this, I'd be thankful.

who is your email with ?0

As ballyblack asked, what email account, e.g. hotmail or other? Once we know what we are dealing with we can then help.0

Add all your email accounts to the stock email client. I prefer that one over the gmail one.
You may prefer the gmail one, but you can do the same with that.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

It's an email Client which manages multiple e-mail accounts such as outlook.com, hotmail.com, gmail.com etc.
As far as I understand the easiest way to sync your phone with eM Client is to sync your phone to the same email account that you have setup in eM Client, no other software necessary. So if the op has got the app set up then all that is needed is to put the email account into it, be it pop3, imap etc. using Menu > Tools > Accounts
from the menu. The app can be set up on laptop also.
The links below are to set up accounts for different email services, choose whichever is your email provider.

It's with Plusnet0

Pick just about any email app and install it on your phone.
Sign in with the same accounts you use on your laptop.
Job done.
Stock app is good, gmail app is good, K9 is good but can be a bit complex.0 -

As we asked earlier if you give the information upfront then we can help and probably much easier when you know what is required. There is no link for a Plusnet Account so:
Menu > Tools > Accounts >
Expand the Mail section, choose Other then click Next.
Enter your PlusNet Mail email address and click Next.
Select the services which will be available for this account in eM Client and click Finish.0
