Tell them £133k is the most you can afford, but not for their house, theres is only worth £120k
TBH it sounds like the vendor is a chancer. I'de avoid them completely as they are likely to be trouble later.Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.0 -
Looking at it from their point of view, they really think it's worth the asking price and it probably was a few months ago.
Unfortunately they don't realise that NOTHING at all is selling and they are just stating over and over that other properties like theirs are on the market for more. (What they don't grasp is that theirs aren't selling either !)

Unfortunately places ARE selling. Two places I was going to view in Surrey and Kent this weekend have gone. The market is not quite as soft as some would make out, at least not in the South East.Mortgage debt - [STRIKE]£8,811.47 [/STRIKE] Paid off!0

at 130k price range, it's not likely the house is in one of the south east hot spots though
in the areas of nottingham I'm looking at, virtually nothing is moving eitherIt's a health benefit ...0 -
It's far up North and I've been closely watching our local market and its definitely at a standstill here! I know it's different all over the country but I can't see it picking up here unless interest rates drop.0

Yes, the estate agent is legally obliged to pass on all offers received, unless otherwise instructed in writing by the seller. See the Ombudsman for Estate Agents' Code of Practice
