This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone
Today is going to be a chill on the sofa with a good book and the TV. I’m feeling pretty tired at the moment. I keep thinking that I’m starting to feel a bit stronger and then a wave of exhaustion comes over me again. I think that I’m probably overdoing it when I start to feel better and knocking myself back again.
Food will be whatever comes to hand from the freezer when I feel hungry, there are some HM ready meals in there. I fancy some porridge with blueberries so will go and make that in a minute and eat that in front of the TV.
Any housework that needs doing can wait until tomorrow, although there isn’t much that needs doing.
OL congratulations to your son.
Taff I’m pleased the CAB meeting went well.
Have a good a day everyone.0 -
Morning Hollyharvey and all who will be here later.
Holly an easy day chilling sounds good, your body is telling you what to do.
I have got up and shock horror am almost out of milk for tea, am having to ration my tea now, must be a practice for Brexit.
Washing ma hone whizzing away with yet another load of towels.am considering rationing for towels now.
Hope everyone has the best day they can.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning
Awake at 4.30 this morning but still feel tired... such a busy work time at the moment but today I am taking off and doing house stuff instead. Did my mad Friday marathon yesterday so really need to get an early one tonight.
Good course in Manchester and even the traffic was a bit kinder than expected. Group were lovely so we laughed lots and the day shot by.
Today then I must sort the kitchen out get a second wash on soon. Food wise I have got out some pulled pork from the freezer so thinking of making some bbq sauce and having it with a big pile of salad and a jacket. I am finally winning the freezer battle and despite really missing my weekend cookathons I can see in there now and whilst still a long way to go its saving me a lot of money ...haven't shopped for a week and a half now.
Hubby time later and my call with my befriending lady.
Other than all of the above ...nothing
Have a lovely day everyone0 -

Morning everyone
Hollyharvey - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Grey, gloomy and raining here this morning.
DH and myself up enjoying peaceful cuppas, he's watching tv whilst I'm on here, I'm showered, dressed and just finished brekkie as I'm working this morning.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken portion, jacket potatoes, beans/veg for the menfolk, I had fish cakes and veg. Tonight is going to be naughty takeaway pizza which DS1 will pick up on his way home from the football. He goes to watch the local team play - he's been to some away games but mostly when they play at home.
Yesterday again I was reasonably productive, the ironing got done, and I ran the hoover over.
We'll probably visit the parents this afternoon.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all.
I want to be in JL at opening time, get the new duvet for DM and back out again very sharpish. Then it's food shopping, a trip to the tip and then get myself home. The weather is expected to be fairly stormy this weekend so the hatches need battened down.
So, not much excitement here! I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Happy Saturday.0 -
Good morning, seems a nice enough morning.
Look after yourself Holly, it's easy to overdo it.
Nothing much planned for the weekend here - there's shopping to do and ironing, that's it really.
DD and family are spending a night at their caravan tonight, cleaning, and making beds. The site re-opened yesterday.
That's it for us.
Take care folks0 -
Morning everyone. Dh has gone fishing not back till late. Today I want to have a good clean. Later I have lots to sort for a jumble sale at school on Monday so that will make lots of room in the back room which will be good. Later dd and I will go in town as it’s Dh birthday tomorrow and we have nothing for him not sure what I will buy he’s very hard to buy for. Also when we are out I want to call at a friends house as her dd left a toy here last time they came and I forgot to take it to the party we all went too
Well done to your son OL
Have a good day everyone0 -
Holly, that's just what Steve does. He's always been able to push his body through barriers and bounce back quickly but he's not at the moment. I feel like a nag telling him not to do things atm.
I ended up with a horrible migraine yesterday, tablets didn't help and I went to bed very early. Better this morning but feeling a bit spacy.
I did manage to go to the GP with Steve, they'd asked him to go in for a cancer treatment review. She told him he had to take things easier as well, especially while his red blood count was low. She also said to ring any time we were worried and they would fit him in at once to see a doctor and showed us it was marked on his notes for the receptionist. We were very impressed.
Hopefully we will be able to go to yoga today and do the delayed Friday tidy.0 -
Morning all
Its been raining this morning but its brightening up now, we need to cut the hedge in the back garden today its got a bit out of control again and I want it doing before the brids start nesting.
I am also clearing out the room off of the the bedroom its a room in the eves but quite a big one and its become a bit of a dumping ground so need to sort that and I need to go shopping too.
I went to the pub last night with my friend and we put the world to rights a bit when we were in there this man started chatting to us, he was sitting at the next table and it turns out they were from the band 'sister sledge' who are playing locally this weekend how funny in our sleepy village !!
Need to get something for dinner tonight while im out and I fancy making some pizzas for one night.
TA for what its worth I shall be forever grateful to my parents for having my dd for me when she was young, it enabled me to work and pay my mortgage and eventually to buy a nice house in a nice village, you are blessed with your grandkids and they are with you xx
Have good days all xx0
