Lloyds
Regarding the Gold packaged account I've had it with them from 2002 till the present day.
I have not used any of the services that come with the gold packaged account.
I was very young and gullible they could have sold me anything.
I thought wow I’ve got a gold card.
I tried to use the travel insurance and the AA about 10 years ago, that they said was included, but I could not use them.
Back then I was very frustrated and decided to ask for all my bank statements so I could pursue a claim.
Having received them I never did anything with them.
They just got totally forgotten about.
Because of all the PPI media adverts, and time remaining etc., made me think about the packaged account.
I used resolver from the link on this web site to try to reclaim the charges.
Within a week, Lloyd’s contacted me and I was put on the spot and was asked many questions about the account so it would help in making a decision.
I tried to be as helpful as I could but I ‘am old now and I cannot remember that far back.
To cut a long story short they rang me back the next day and said my complaint was out of date?????
Not a clue what that means, they no longer have a gold packaged account now.
Any advice guys??? I know there is the financial ombudsman route.
Do you think there trying to avoid this complaint, or are they in there right to refuse this?
Just looking for some advice, having read some of the posts from people who have won there complaint and have been reimbursed for the same gold packaged account I have?
Kind regards
Steve

For the last few years they have been sending out annual letters stating what the Gold account offers and its cost (free if you kept £2k (I think)credit balance).
If the account was not suitable then you had the opportunity to change it.0 -

To answer your question, banks are entitled to reject complaints on time-barring grounds either six years after alleged misselling or three years after the complainant became aware (or reasonably should have been aware) of it. If you started gathering data for an aborted claim ten years ago then you've probably shot yourself in the foot if they know you were aware of unsuitability at that stage....0
