Unsure if I can claim?

I took out a loan in 2012, and distinctly remember being taken straight to a meeting with an insurance broker after the loan was sealed to discuss insurance for me incase I become ill. Does this count as PPI? I only ask as I tried to use the Resolver tool on MSE but couldn't select the year my PPI may have been missals as it only went up to 2010.

    That sounds like critical illness.

You won't have bought PPI in 2012.

What is your complaint about the product?

    Doesn't sound like it.

    .
Plus it's unlikely the insurance broker is on resolver.

Loan PPI had long since ceased to be sold by 2012. That's why Resolver only goes up to 2010 (which is already late in the day for PPI) .
You therefore don't have a PPI complaint.

Why do you think the insurance you do have was mis-sold to you?
  • Thanks for the advice all. I was unsure what PPI was and how it was sold to people, and as the insurance I got was discussed quickly after my loan (and the reasons for having it were laid on quite thick by those selling it) I wanted to double check. Sounds like it was just my own naivety not shopping around, so lesson learned
