Hi everyone,
Any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
I went for a nandos in town but their carpark was full so i went to a hotels carpark over the road, it was pitch black didn't see any signs. A few days later I received a letter from parking eye. I have been told from all my friends to just ignore. so i ignored ignored ignored then i got a letter from Northampton County county Business centre. I just laughed thinking that's fake and ignored. Then today i received a letter saying the judgement has been passed in my absence and i need to pay £197 in my absence. Do I need to pay this, sorry i am totally oblivious to all this as I've always thought these things are invoices and are not enforceable?
Regards
James

Go and see your friends and get them to organise a whip-round to pay your judgment!
You can either: -
1. Pay and avoid a CCJ on your credit file
2. File for a set-aside. See NEWBIE thread post # 2 for help on this.0 -
Unfortunately because you ignored it, Parking Eye have succeeded in getting a CCJ against you.
If you pay within a month of the judgment, the CCJ won't be applied to your credit file.
While you could apply for a set aside, you are going to have to really go some to show why it should be. And unless you qualify for help with fees, you'll be shelling out £255 for the pleasure, with no guarantee of the set aside winning or costs being awarded.Natwest OD - Start: £1,500 Current: £1,500 | Creation Loan - Start: £2,152.33 Current: £2,082.90 | Barclaycard CC - Start: £5,242.42 Current: £5,416.45 | Novuna Loan - Start: £8,598.43 Current: £8,366.04 | Tesco CC - Start: £9,420.22 Current: £9,885 | Northridge Car - Start: £15,584 Current: £15,017
Starting total on 02.07.2024 is: £42,497.40 | Current total: £42,267.39 (0.5% paid off)0 -
Thank you for the replies!! I genuinely feel sick ive just called and payed it! All my life ive been told to ignore an this happens!! What happened to contracts and common law!?0
-
you could have argued those in your local court
people who are stupid and listen to foolish friends and ignore court papers dont really have anything to argue about
so the time to argue common law and contracts was in court, which you ignored
as the lottery used to say "you gotta be in it to win it"0
