Executors scrapping a car with no V5

I've searched but couldn't find anything quite like this.
We need to scrap a car which belonged to my late F-I-L. It is on SORN, and has been idle for several years. It is undriveable now, and needs to be scrapped.
Unfortunately, it appears that the original V5 has been lost/ destroyed and all that the executors have left is a photocopy of the original, plus the last MOT certificate from 2014.
How should they go about scrapping the vehicle please? Should they apply for a replacement V5 somehow, or would the scrappy be able to do anything with this copy plus the death certificates etc?
Thanks in advance.

Googled on 'scrapping a car without V5' and got lots of info e.g. from https://www.asm-autos.co.uk/blog/the-complete-guide-to-scrapping-your-car/
Scrapping a car without V5C or logbook?
If you can’t locate your vehicle’s V5C document, it is not strictly necessary to pay for a replacement. Legally speaking, it is perfectly viable for you to contact inform the DVLA in writing, providing:
Confirmation that the vehicle was sold for scrap
Relevant personal information
Details of the buyer
The date of the sale
The registration number, make and model of the carGoogling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
Any reputable vehicle recycling place will let you know what they need.
Check it is not worth more than scrap value.0 -

Thank you.
(It's a mouldy, oil-leaked out, decayed-tyred M-reg Fiesta. Even WBAC wouldn't quote for it.)They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.
