Help needed for the best energy company!!!!!!

Electricity predicted annual cost £1125.92
New predicted annual cost £1253.97

Gas £548.56
New Predicted £600.58

From 1st April the cost of your current deal with EON will increase to £1884.19 a year.

If you switch to the exclusive deal we have negotiated with EDF energy you'll pay £1479.10 over 12 months. This is a fixed tariff for 12 months. Personal saving of £405.08 if you decide to switch.

We do not have a smart meter.

We pay £48 weekly for both gas and electric.

We are always in credit and we have only just got back £500 for paying over the odds. The year before we had £1000 in credit.

We are on energy plan and its estimated usage for
Electricity is £6089kWh.

Gas is £11432kWh estimated usage yearly.

We also have high care as we have a disabled child with life limiting illnesses.

We are in a detached Bungalow which is 3 bedrooms.

We have been with EON for roughly 8 years.

Do you know your actual kWh annual use, not the one supplied by your energy co as they are notoriously inaccurate ?

Put those figures, use the supplied ones if you must, into a comparison site and see what comes up. If you are on their standard variable tariff you will be overpaying and will undoubtedly save. You need to get a handle on your actual annual use and submit meter readings monthly as that will benefit you by getting a more accurate monthly payment.

Your estimated electric is, probably understandably, high but the gas figure seems low, around the national average, considering your family circumstances.

thanks for getting back, so quick, we have 3 children living here
we use halagen oven and slow cooker mostly, gas oven used now and again and a 2year old gas boiler energy.
and no to your answer we dont know our reading kWh annual use.

if we was to swap how does a new suppler know what to charge at the start or do they say how much you now pay keep paying the same, until they decide to lower dd.

It's quite easy to work out your actual consumption - all you want is two bills about a year apart with Actual and not Estimated readings . Then do some simple sums.

Then put these sums into a comparison site and look for their estimated costs rather than savings.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Hello jayiceman and sorry to lose you.

Do you have an online account? If you do, you can see your past bills on there going back for two years. There's also information about how much energy you've used on the MiData page. This is based on the meter readings we've used when billing.

If you pop the annual usage on to a Price Comparison site, you'll be able to see the tariffs available with both us and the other suppliers.

    Hope this help jayiceman.

hello all this maybe estimated from eon statements on line
Think this is about right, the only thing is summer and winter seems not to change looking at past statements.
    per year E 6.825.5
    G 15.622

    per month E 561
    G 1284
we are sorry as well, but prices are going up and eon said they found us a deal with EDF, we have seen that another company that we would get 4x £50 voucher over fixed 2y for £30 a week for duel fuel.
ps we pay weekly but nothing shows on comparison sites we are thinking of paying monthly

Its good that you have switched from a standard tariff. Now may I suggest you take and submit monthly readings for your gas and electricity, and keep your own records.

6826 kWh is a substantial use of electricity. Try and identify what your using - Heaters , immersion heaters, tumble dryers etc. If its not obvious getting a simple energy monitor may be worthwhile.

You have checked your actual annual consumption, and used a comparison site to find cheaper tariffs. You also know E-ON are putting up their standard tariff which will increase your bills by 12%. So what is causing you to hesitate about switching?

Only your dryer is likely to be a significant user. How is your hot water heated? (Hopefully not using an immersion heater)
