Hi All,

Our Sky Q subscription ends next month and we will revert to Freesat (built in to our TV).

I believe that we have to replace the LNB as the Q one is different.

Anyone achieved this? if so can they recommend an LNB (pref on Amazon).

TIA

If you have a two port Sky Q LNB get a four port Sky LNB, loads available generally. If you have a six port Sky Hybrid LNB then it will work with Freesat.

If your dish has the Sky hybrid 6 port lnb i think you will have to change the cables on the sky outputs over to the 2 outputs for freesat on the LNB as the Sky output on the LNB will not work. It will just be a case of getting access to the dish and unscrew the shotgun cable/f-plugs and screw them onto the freesat output terminals.

If you want to check now turn off your Sky Q box and then take the sat cable off the Q box and connect them to the tv to check if you get a signal. Make sure the tv is unpluged as it has been known to cause electrical issues with the sat boxes and sat tv's if there is still power going to/from the lnb.

I maybe wrong in all this.

Correct, wrong. Any of the six outputs of a Hybrid LNB will work equally well with Sky Q or non Sky Q receivers.

Are you sure? Never seen a Sky Q compatible Octo. Two or six outputs yes.

Don't make me go outside again! I'll take a photo in a bit.

Yes. They send out prepaid labels and a suitable box.

Make sure you get proof of posting, funny that you can buy secondhand Q boxes on selling sites, wonder where they come from?

OK - Did not get outside (will try in a bit). But I did unplug a satellite feed from the Q box and put it in the LG TV. Nothing.
