Laptop Recommendations

Hi All,

I'm looking for a new laptop as my Lenova is beyond repair. I'm looking for something for online surfing, using MS packages all standard tasks. What should I be looking at and what price range?

I spotted the one below online but a few people have said it's overpriced. Any recommendations would be great.

It's an okay spec for that price bracket, and yes probably expensive. But why buy from eBay when you can get a better deal from HP at £319 and a 3 year support package for £49. No disrespect to eBay sellers but my money would be with HP or any other reputable supplier that has a operation you can see and deal with should problems arise.

I'm very much drawn to the below, it looks solid with a good spec and it has decent processor. Any issues with this?

It’s a pretty basic notebook, the “spinning rust” hard drive will be slow. In this century we have moved on to SSD.

Have you considered an ex office, refurbished notebook? There are some excellent high spec notebooks around, although you need to buy from a reputable vendor and be prepared to replace the battery as many do not supply a new one.
