I'm not a daily user of my iphone 4s but one of the things that has perplexed me & is driving me mad is why, when I first switch phone on & then decide to make a call, music starts to play, meaning I can't hear what the other person is saying. It only seems to happen to the 1st call of the day & not any others I make on that day.
I don't subscribe to itunes or anything like that.
Despite a google search I've not been able to identify a similar problem to mine, so hoping somebody here can help me put an end to this.

The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Is it music that you have stored on your phone?
Are any other apps open at the time?
Is it always the same music, or does it vary?
Is the music coming from the speakers or the earpiece?
I had this on my phone, a video in another app autoplayed even though I was on the phone.0 -
Do you recognise the music as something which you might have stored on the phone?
Is it the same music every time?
If you double-click the home key, to show a list of the open apps, what is open?0 -
The music is coming from the phone itself, ie, no external speakers or earpiece used on the phone. The music is the same every time & nothing I recognise & I've never put any music on the phone at all.
Googler, when I double click on the main key there are lots of things come up as pages, seemingly everything that is available on the phone such as settings, google maps, bus times, camera, etc.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

These are all the apps that are open at the time you double-click. Close all of them (swipe ... up? Left? Right? Click X at top right of app window?), then make a call. Do you get music? If not, one of those apps was being triggered when you did.
If you want to be REALLY thorough, you could close one app at a time, one per day, to see when the music disappears. The last app you closed would be the guilty one.

Thanks so much googler, I'll give it a try a little while & hope it solves my problem. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

Seem to recall a very similar issue with i4's and 5's years back when plugging them in in the car. It was something to do with iTunes switching on automatically during calls. Will need to think back and figure out how it was cured.0

If loads of apps are open it might be quicker to the classic computer fix - switch it off then on again. That closes down everything.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

Cool. If you have time to spare, you could work your way through the apps, starting one at a time, until the music appears, but glad to hear you're sorted.0
