Microwave screw holes corroding - repairable?

Suitably sized self-tapping screws might tighten things up. I doubt that the thin metal back panel acts as a microwave radiation shield in any case (there is a strongly built sealed cooking cavity inside the cooker). Obviously open up at your own risk, disconnect completely from the mains and keep well away from the magnetron and associated circuitry. I replaced a top grill element, wave guide and turntable motor on a Sharp combination with no problems - had to remove back and top covers which did not affect the integrity of the cooking cavity at all.0
