Supercard pilot / Tuxedo card

Back in 2015, I had a pilot version of the Supercard from Travelex, mainly because it was recommended by Martin for spending abroad. I used it for a few trips to France and Spain but then it was discontinued in 2016. I received an email from them that said the pilot had ended and that "at 00:01 on 7th June 2016, your account was automatically closed". All fine.
However, today I've received an email from a "Tuxedo card", telling me that the terms and conditions on my prepaid Tuxedo card are changing. Strange I thought as I've never had or wanted a pre-paid Tuxedo card. On closer inspection, all of my login details from the Supercard work for this new card. It appears that either (a) my account wasn't closed at all as they said but instead was transferred across to this new card, or (b) my details have somehow been shared and a new card has been set up in my name.
I should say that I don't have a physical card for this account and today was the first time I've received anything from them, either via email or post.
I'm pretty annoyed. I don't like the idea of a pre-paid credit card account existing in my name for the past 3 years without my knowledge and certainly without my authorisation.
Two questions :
1) Has this happened to anyone else?
2) What can I do about it beyond just ringing them and getting this account shut down? Does it break Data Protection / GDPR guidelines? I feel like it certainly should be against some legislation.
Thanks in advance :-)

Just ask them to remove your details and close any accounts down.
No need to jump on the GDPR bandwagon at this stage0 -

Same email here. I cancelled my Travelex card after the first pilot was finished.

That card was legendary. Took full advantage of the uncapped spend limit in its dying days, earned
enough points to pay for a couple of weeks of Hilton accommodation. Come back all is forgiven!0
