I have some documentation to send to the DWP, the address specifically given is;
FREEPOST DWP ESA 5
For securities sake can I send this signed for??
Doesn't say PO box but sometimes there is no way to send to such addresses.

Don't waste your money, the item will go to a sorting centre for DWP and could be signed for by anyone, this will not help you with receipt of your item by the people that need to receive it. Just get proof of posting."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Or, take it to your local DWP office and ask them to fax it over. All DWP post goes to a PO Box for security reasons.0

As above I was told some years back not to send registered post as it can actually take more time to get to the correct dept. proof of posting is adequate and of course take photo copies of everything you send for reference.0

Get proof of posting and keep it safemake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

You are of course right, but when they tell you there is no time limit in which they need to act you kinda want to ensure your aren't waiting for a lost in post issue, it does happen.
Will ring after 14 days, just didn't want to appear to be a pusher.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

I always send the DWP stuff to be signed for it doesn't matter if the opening unit sign for it you have a signature and that is proof it was received, the other way is to send it signed for but put PRIVATE & CONFIDENTIAL TO BE OPENED BY ADDRESSEE ONLY that might get them scanning it and all other stuff before sending it on unopened or they will sign for it the and opening unit will open it themselves.Someone please tell me what money is0 -
For what it's worth I asked the local post office to send to the address mentioned. It's now not possible as the new PO system cannot handle anything over the counter without a valid send to post code, the "system" won't accept it.:AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

I'm not really sure what use that information is. The ESA office in a location doesn't necessarily process claims for that location. As an old example, Gloucester office used to process claims for Cornwall.0

Sorry if it doesn't meet with your approval, it's just a statement of fact after the debate on signed for or not signed for. :AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

I’m going to take my next batch of paperwork to the job centre & get them to scan it all in, so they can’t claim I haven’t sent it inI’ll have to phone up & make an appointment to do so but at least I’ll know they’ve got it.
Of course I’ve no control over what they do (or don’t do) with the paperwork but that’s a whole other discussion.0
