Old Style Daily Friday 1st March 2019

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning everyone

I managed to get most of the housework done yesterday, and my friend decided to go shopping today instead of yesterday afternoon, so I will be going with her. I’m sure that we will stop somewhere for coffee.

I was glad that I am up to date with the washing with the change in weather yesterday, it poured down most of the day yesterday. I certainly wouldn’t have been able to get anything dry on the line.

Dinner today will be fish of some sort. I will go freezer diving this morning, and it will be whatever is nearest the top of the freezer.

Congratulations on the new arrival Rosyred.
    Csarina happy anniversary for yesterday.

Have as good a day as possible everyone.

Morning! Thank you for starting today's thread Hollyharvey.

My OH and DS will be out together for most of today so I'm planning to get the Friday Tidy done early and then just pootle aimlessly.

We had a wet day too Holly and I felt quite smug about having managed to get several loads of bedding and towels dry on the line but of course now there is yet another towel load to do and big ones too. I'll check what the weatherman says in a minute as I'd rather wait a few days if we are likely to have another dry day.

I've been asked to go to the cinema and have said yes in theory, woukd like to know what day. I think next week so must ask for it not to be Tuesday because of making pancakes. I loathe pancakes and this is a plus for my two, no annoying breaks in the production line.

Hoping that everyone has as good a day as possible

  • Morning folks and thanks HOLLY.

Happy St David's day to our Welsh contingent.

Congrats all round ROSYRED on the new arrival and belated happy anniversary to CSARINA.

Flying visit from me as now I have the DGDs when I shouldn't have had and they will be to sort out and get ready for school shortly.

FridaY Tidy as soon as they have gone and then I have some sewing to do for this blessed dance competition tomorrow. Everything is always last minute with DD. The little silver lace flowers we got yesterday are to sew all over the net of the tutu middle DGD is wearing.

Have a good day folksd and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. take care all xx

    Good morning everyone :hello:
I have been struggling with depression for the last week but this morning it is as if the dark clouds have lifted and I feel so much better. Steve and Phoebe have just left for work and the others are still fast asleep. Lilly has college though so she will be appearing in an hour or so and Lee wants to go to the gym this morning so I am expecting him to get up soon too.

Steve is on a half day so I will have some company this afternoon although he has to go to the next town over to pay in a cheque for me as there is no bank here now which is very annoying.

Jemima brought me three lots of asparagus as it was on special offer yesterday so I will be having asparagus, bacon and a poached egg for breakfast, yum, looking forward to that. Dinner tonight will be freezer dip, I think there are some fishcakes near the top of the chest freezer so I will ask Lee to investigate :).

So lovely to hear your news Rosyred, congratulations xx
csarina, belated Happy Anniversary to you and your DH xx
OL, my condolences on the loss of your BIL, it must have been quite a shock for all of you xx
AOD, I am another one who doesn't like pancakes but am expected to churn them out for everyone else, well they are out of luck this year as I can't stand for long enough. I am hoping if I keep quiet about it they will all forget :rotfl:.

We had a meeting with Lee's care coordinator yesterday which was fairly positive. He kept offering us family therapy though which was quite funny. I think we will be alright without it so I turned down his offer. He is coming back to see Lee in four weeks which seems like a positive thing. Lee coped quite well with it all too.

Well the animals here are all in a food coma as they have been fed twice this morning by mistake as Phoebe didn't realise that Steve had come down and fed them early. Steve will take the dogs for a nice long walk this afternoon which will help :). The cat is just lying on the floor with a bulging belly :D.

Before I go, I want to wish a very Happy St. David's day to all my lovely welshies on here. I will be wearing my daffodil with pride.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Morning All

Congrats Rosyred, is there a name yet?
    Belated Happy Anniversary Csarina.
Happy St David's Day to our Welsh friends.

March already? After an exceptionally long January, February disappeared in a flash, I must be getting old!

Thankfully it's Friday, I'm missing swimming but should be able to go next week when the ABs are finished. My ear is a lot better but still have a strange feeling in there.

It's cold this morning but no rain as yet, looks like we'll have showers over the weekend but I'm hoping to be able to put some washing out.

    Happy Friday, take care. XX

    Morning everyone

Hollyharvey - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Still not properly light, damp underfoot and air feels quite cool. Forecast not great for today. I did manage to get a line of washing very nearly dry yesterday and had just got it in before it started to rain.

DH and DS1 gone to work, DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly, he'll want brekkie then will come with me to do the SM shop but isn't going to the gym as he and his friend are going to the next town to do some clothes shopping, his friend is picking him up and will drop him back home later.

Dinner last night was gammon ham, egg, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg and coleslaw, tonight I'm not sure what we'll be having, but I'll organise that when I do the food shopping.

Yesterday was one of those days where I just ran around doing one job after another but not feeling like I'd achieved much by the end of the day, although there were a few things that had to be done and all were achieved so I shouldn't be giving myself a hard time. Today once the shopping is done I need to get stuck into the housework and do the ironing, I need uniform for tomorrow and I won't have time for ironing over the weekend.

    Keep safe and well x

    Good morning everyone.

Csarina - I hope you and OH had a lovely anniversary yesterday, did it bring back memories?

This morning DM has another dental appointment and then will want to toddle round a shop or two. Once I've brought her home I'll zoom into town as she wants a new duvet, hers has gone thin. It must be over 12 years old so it's about time.

That's my day then! I hope thst everyone has a peaceful day. Happy Friday to all.

    Morning all

Its a bit damp and grey here and meant to rain all day I think, only two clients in at work today and we need to make pizza's.

Going to meet a friend after work tonight at the pub we will have drinks and some dinner out which will be nice, OH will cook something for himself at home and will walk up and meet us for a drink later (friend wants a girly chat I think)

At the weekend we need to cut the back hedge before the birds start nesting and I want to clear the little storeroom off of the bedroom.

Happy St David's day to the Welshies :j

    Congratulations to Rosyred xx

    Have good days all xx
