Council tax band increase?

Hi,
Sorry for the overload of information.
We have seen a house we really like but a little worried that the council tax may increase when we purchase.
The house had an extension added around early 1990’s, the houses next to it also have these extension which are made into bedrooms, the house next door was bought in 2012 and the council tax band didn’t change.
The house had a sale entry in 1997 as the couple split up, one of them still reside there, would the council tax have been reassessed then?
In 2007 there was a conservatory and bay window added as well as this extension, I checked the council planning portal for this. I had tried checking on the VOA website but there wasn’t much on the subject.
I’m thinking the first extionsion was ok but would a conservatory had an impact in terms of a council tax band increase? I don’t really want to phone the VOA if I can help it....
Any advice welcomed.

Check to see if there is an improvement indicator on the property. Pop the post code in here:

I had an extension on my house around 20 years ago and continue to pay the same banding. My property has an indicator on it - so when I sell the house, whoever buys it will be paying a higher band.0

We added a small extension to our last-but-one house (took down an early 20th century extension and built a slightly larger one) in 2012 and an improvement indicator was put on the VOA listing.
When we sold two years later in 2014 the council tax went up two bands.Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

feel sorry for your buyers"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Why feel sorry for the buyers? This information is widely available before purchase and no doubt the buyers must have been aware of the extension.
The increase in banding would only have brought the band in line with that of similar sized properties, which presumably was the size property the buyers were looking for.0 -
The sale between exes would not trigger a review of CT band. The difference in payments between most bands would be less than £10 a week, so not too much extra if the band did increaseIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
