Hi All,
Any advice on a good place to find cheap collection and delivery of furniture bought on eBay and offered collection only? I've seen a few sites but have no idea which to avoid etc.
Anyone had a good experience with this sort of thing?

Thank you! But that all sounds a little too professional and therefore expensive. I've had people send someone to collect from me before, and a nice guy with a van showed up, he'd been travelling all over the city that day collecting things to deliver the next day.
That's more the kind of thing.. reliable person with van.com ?0 -
If you're not looking for a "professional" service then you're looking for a small operator, some idea of where you live might help people help you. Be careful, some "unprofessional" types go to collect items for you but forget to deliver them to you.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

We have vans and are very competitive lots of small local businesses will deliver single items as well as bigger jobs. It might be worth asking for quotes
Reason I suggested landline number is so as EssexExile says some man and van forget to deliver !
We regular hear the various horror stories of broken items , unreliability of some van men.
There are some genuine ‘man and van’ but you get what you pay for.0 -
Thanks all. I'm in London if anyone has used someone they could recommend.0

More fool you if you don't want to use a professional outfit. What exactly do you want? Some dodgy guy who doesn't pay tax or insurance to collect your gear and may / may not deliver it depending on his mood. You sound like a bit of an idiot to be fair.0

I have been "following" a local man & van on facebook for ages, just in case. He had lots of 5* reviews and is cheapo.
He often posts pics of his adventures around the country, with various loads delivered hither and thither.
I would trust him for exactly this kind of thing - delivering or collecting ebay furniture. But only because I've been looking at his page for a couple of years and various comments on his page.
But he's not in London.0
