Do I go forward and fight or shall I pay it?

    Amount claimed- 160
    Court fee- £25
    Representation £50
    Total- 245.49

Why pay a scammer when you can win and claim costs

You do not owe £160. Gladstones as usual are trying to scam you
    The ticket is £100 .....

    GLADSTONES ADD ON A FAKE £60 ?
In addition to the 'parking charge', the Claimant's legal representatives, Gladstones, have artificially inflated the value of the Claim by adding costs of £60 which has not actually been incurred by the Claimant, and which are artificially invented figures in an attempt to circumvent the Small Claims costs rules using double recovery.

  • Great advice that’s all for your help so far- I have emailed CPM but unable to contact any of the email addresses for Gladstone’s on the previous threads (all came back non deliverable) so not sure what to do on that front.

Acknowledgment of service- I’m about to do this, however a little nervous because I feel I’d have nothing to defend with- they have a picture of me parked NEXT to the sign (please I know how stupid I am) and I have just ignored this- surely I cannot defend it?

Should I acknowledge even without a solid defence?

    Thank you very much

Yes, do the Acknowledgement of Service.

As already said, you then have a whole month to create a Defence.

Again, let post #2 of the NEWBIES thread be your guide with that.
In particular, look at those concise Defences written by Bargepole linked from there.
  • On the Gladstone's SAR front, there is an email on their privacy page to send requests over to.
    Natwest OD - Start: £1,500 Current: £1,500 |  Creation Loan - Start: £2,152.33 Current: £2,082.90  |  Barclaycard CC - Start: £5,242.42 Current: £5,416.45  |  Novuna Loan - Start: £8,598.43 Current: £8,366.04  |  Tesco CC - Start: £9,420.22 Current: £9,885  |  Northridge Car - Start: £15,584 Current: £15,017

Starting total on 02.07.2024 is: £42,497.40  |  Current total: £42,267.39 (0.5% paid off)
  • Hi all,

Thanks for the advice above, I have requested an SAR and had nothing back, and I'm just about to do my AoS.

Looking over the newbies thread, is there nothing else to do except start my Defence? I have looked over and everyone seems to have a lot of evidence! Me being silly, parked somewhere I shouldn't have, ignored the letters and now I'm in this position...

The only defence I feel I have it that they're a shifty company, and that I was on a new estate which is private land.

Any 1 on 1 advice on creating a defence for my situation would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Thanks Keith, Would it be OK to submit a draft defence in here before sending it?

    Yes of course.

By looking at other threads you will see that is what most people do.

    Hi,

I have just received a reply from CPM data protection saying they will provide evidence by 6th April, however that doesn't give me enough time to use what they have in my defence.

Not sure what I should do from here
