Open a Chinese Yuan account not difficult, even HSBC UK can offer a CNY account in UK! But the point is you can not transfer CNY from/to a bank account in China. (Yes, only corporates can do this with permit)Ballard said:
I should have googled before posting because now that I have it seems that this is for corporates only.toby3000 said:
I see - I'd imagine that you couldn't do that without Chinese citizenship, but to do honest I have no idea.Ballard said:CNH (as opposed to CNY) is Yuan held overseas (generally HK). It’s 1:1 with CNY but convertible to other currencies. The first question is whether you would be eligible to open an account and transfer CNY in. I’d guess not.
For personal, there a one special case, if you are Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan permanent resident, you can transfer Yuan to China mainland, but only transfer out previous transfer in.0
