I need to do a BT

Hi, I currently have a Virgin Card which is coming to the end of it's 0%.

I was thinking of moving to either Morgan Stanley, M&S, Aliance and Leicester (if they've still go a 0% offer). Which ones of these offer good transfer amounts - I've got about £5000 to transfer.

And have any of them got any hidden catches, like a transfer fee?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Tnx.

You will have a problem with Alliance and Leicester since it's just another MBNA issued credit card [like Virgin is] If you wish to transfer a balance there you will have to clear it off the Virgin first.

Morgan Stanley - don't know - is it 9 months now?

M&S - ditto - but at least that is for 9 months - giving you a breathing space.

Fees: I think that MS and M&S are fee free. Look here for some ideas - but note that it's only one source - and that many offers won't appear here [eg RBS/Natwest have started offering 0% for 9 months in the last few days and used to be listed when it was only 0% for 6 months]

My Morgan Stanley is currently in its second month of a 7 month period -
    fee free
IF give 9 months, fee free as well

Just a bit of general advice - E-mail the institutions that you think may be able to "help" you in the future. Ask them to send you some information on savings products, current accounts, or mortgages etc. This way, you'll get your details onto their databases and may be sent special offers.

This tactic has already paid dividends for me with a personal invitation for a 9 months Lloyds TSB card when the standard is 6 months. The added bonus for me is no messing around with online payments and DD's etc - I have to walk past LLoyds to pay my normal bank's credit card bill every month. ;)

Thanks for the info. I reckon I'll apply for a MS one.
