Sent 2 pairs of Dr Martens back from online order - they claim I only sent one pair back

    Sorry, I missed that. In which case I can't see how you can prove that you returned both pairs, so it'll be down to their goodwill to agree with you.

    But surely they bear respondibility for allegedly having a system that allows this to happen?

    Maybe, but their argument is likely to be that it didn't happen.
