My son recently bought a car from arnold clark. The sales advisor said there was a money back no quibble return policy 28 days. My son has had vehicle 11 days when there was a problem with gears. On calling arnold clark to resolve issue he was told
1. Due to being 18 they could not offer him a courtesy car whilst his was in for repair and
2. The first date for presenting the car for repair is the 14th march which would surpass the 28 days car return no quibble.
Is there anything he can do has anyone experienced this with arnold clark

Why is it being repaired if he wants to use the money back guarantee?
Surely he would return the car to them and get his money back?
Does he want rid of the car and his money back, or does he want it repaired?0 -
The first day they can receive the car is irrelevant.
As long as when he informs them that there is a fault and he wishes to invoke the returns policy is within the 28 days this is sufficient.
Would suggest he does this in writing0 -
Bear in mind that the Arnold Shark "guarantee" is over and above his Consumer rights as afforded by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.0

I cant see anyhwere on their website where they offer a no quibble 28 day return policy
do you have that in writing0 -
Print a large sign for the car window that says
I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM ARNOLD CLARK, ITS FAULTY AND THEY WONT GIVE ME A REFUND
Park it on their forecourt, lock it, and then go in and take a seat. Ideally on a busy time like a saturday morning, when people are looking at cars to buy.0
