Zenith collection letter to previous address

I've read a lot of the forum posts and the main question from me would be, if the fines and now collection letter have been posted to a previous address and I only know this because my previous landlord has forwarded the unopened letter, do I:
a) ignore it, I haven't technically received the letter. Should they of, or can they contact the DVLA to request my current address?
b) robustly respond with the previous address that they posted it to.
c) robustly respond with my new address

FYI this parking fine was whilst on duty and I followed my procedure of letting the retail manager know to pass on my registration details so the retail park manager can take me off the fines list, chances are they missed it or didn't pass on my details so I'll pursue this with them now.

Thanks in advance for you help

ZENITH are just part of the "bad boy scammers" who are powerless so you ignore their garbage.

But, this shows that maybe you have not updated your car with the DVLA. You must do this TODAY.

Advise Zenith and the PPC of the KEEPERS new address and request confirmation

    They are not fines.

Tell the parking scammers and their agents in writing about your new/current address by sending a rectification notice to their Data Protection Officer (DPO). Search the NEWBIES or forum using the keywords "rectification notice" to find other examples of how to do this.

Check the DVLA have your current address for both V5 and Driving Licence. They both need to be updated separately otherwise you could be looking at a real fine of £100 per offence.

Do not give away the driver's identity in any correspondence. The Keeper is the one updating all information, and it is The Keeper who will be appealing the PCNs if they aren't cancelled.

Ignoring them could land you with a CCJ by default as the DVLA can only release your details once.

Contact the PPC by letter and inform them of your new address. Obtain a certificate of posting, and complain to your MP.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.

Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Second Reading in the Lords this month, and, with a fair wind, will l become Law later this year..

All five readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 7-8 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers. hy

  • Send the PPC's data protection officer a rectification notice with your new address. You don't have to say anything else, but make sure you keep that email somewhere safe, should you need to rely on it in the future.

Maybe check in with the retail park again and chase it up.

  • You need to state it is your new and correct ADDRESS FOR SERVICE
They must remove any prior address from their systems
You will rely upon this notice should they raise a claim against a known bad address

Yep, a rectification notice emailed to their DPO, stating 'My address for service is....xxx xxxxx xxxx...so you must now erase your data of my old address and rectify your data records.'

    IGNORE ZENITH & DRP COMPLETELY.

Separately, email to the parking firm:
I have just been passed an unsolicited and unfair PCN that you sent to my old address. I was working at the location in xxxxx store, and I followed my procedure of letting the retail manager know to pass on my registration details so the retail park manager could exempt my vehicle.

I am pursuing this with them now and it has been suggested I appeal with you first, as I have just received the PCN so have had no such opportunity thus far. I won't be communicating with Debt Recovery Plus of course, so don't bother to tell me to do that.

    Which PPC?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Any advice. Thanks
Please don't hijack other posters' threads.

Go to the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4 to read about how to deal with DRP and Zenith (same company, different desk).
