    Hello!

I was just wondering on what is the best way to save money? Not for anything specific but for a rainy day or something to fall back on if a troubled day ever comes.

    Any suggestions? :D PLEASE

    Best to have ambitions!

At the moment you're getting a little savings building up, but as you've no reason to save you are more than tempted to repeatedly dip into it.

Save for a good reason will help you from dipping in it.
Doesn't have to be anything specific, but specific items do help, like new car or holiday.
You could just set and write out some targets to aim for and stick them on your fridge.
    Like £100, £500, £1000 and keep going.
When you get tempted, you'll feel frustrated as you're !!!!!!ing up your target.

As already suggested, saving small amounts weekly can help with a feeling of achievement, you see it build a bit more often than once a month and you can save smaller amounts without them being obvious.

Get in a mindset of saving.
Sounds silly but try and work a little save every month, week and day.
So for example, skip a take away or night out once a month, walk/cycle to work once a week, dodge Starbucks every day for a week.
I'm not saying do the same every day, week or month, but get your mind thinking what you can do away with spending for short periods like a day or week and stick the savings away.

You'll soon end up with a list of things you used to spent out on that you don't really miss, if you do miss them turn them into a treat for hitting your targets.

Another useful one is work on your bills.
Switching suppliers usually results in savings from your out goings, so if switching your mobile contract saves you £15 a month, shuffle this £15 off to a saving account on the same day you pay the bill and you'll not miss it.
Switching gas, electric, mobile, broadband & phone could net you another £100 or so a month you'll not really miss.
