  • Can I ask what we’re you able to get the advance for. I’m in need of money upfront in form of a budgeting advance but lots of people said it just gets rejected. For the reasons the advance is for. Trying to find out if it covers a broken car in need of a repair or to replace white goods that are broken etc

Should have started your own topic, but go to https://www.gov.uk/budgeting-help-benefits and it tells you what you can request one for on there.

This thread is about the budgeting loan for the old legacy benefits, when applying for this online, they don't ask you what you need it for.

For a budgeting advance, it's a different way of applying so they are slightly different. All you can do is apply. You also need to have been claiming for at least 6 months and not earned more than £2600 in that time. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/universal-credit/on-universal-credit/budgeting-advance/
