How long to charge a 110Ah 920CCA car battery with a 3.8A charger?
or is it not that simple?

Really you should be using a 'smart' charger, which charges until it's full.
The time to charge will depend on how discharged it is, and what charging current the battery accepts - it could be an hour, it could be 24 hours...0 -
Until it starts gassing rapidly, and the charge rate drops to about 2 Amps.0

Thanks all, jimbo6977 i have something similar, olny a cheap one from Lidl that shuts off after its fully charged.
Just need to move the car and wondered if there was away of working out how long it will take to charge, ill leave it and keep checking
Last questions guys I promise, is there an easy way of seeing how much charge the battery has once charged? (what i mean is if any damage is done, or if the battery is kn@ckered)0 -
110Ah / 3.8 A = 29 hours. But that assumes all sorts of things, including that it is starting from zero charge (unlikely) and that the charging current is actually constant. But it should give a reasonable estimate.0

24hrs or so. Just done our 110Ah leisure battery from the caravan.(what i mean is if any damage is done, or if the battery is kn@ckered)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

The 3.8A charger is probably a smart one and it will be 3.8A with a dead battery and then cycle down to less than 0.5A so to fully charge it can take a long time.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

If it's not a sealed battery, you can use something like this:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-5010559617920-61792-Battery-Hydrometer/dp/B0001K9XSO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1551203016&sr=8-3&keywords=hydrometer+battery
Just suck out a little electrolyte from each cell, note the reading, then return the electrolyte.0 -
Thanks all, left it on charge on the car for 5 hours and she started first time. She had been sat and not used for 3 weeks prior to the battery going flat0
