Claiming for Compensation due to new road
Hi,
I'm new to this website and unsure where to go for help, so if this not the right please, please do let me know.
I wanted some advice on how to claim compensation for a new road that has recently been built/opened at the back of my house, the A555. I have reviewed the gov.co.uk site and there is a form to fill in to claim however, my question is in two parts:
1 - Can I/Should I simply fill in this claim form and sent it off without legal advice?
2 - If legal advice is recommended, what sort of legal advisor am I looking for?
I am aware the government will pay for some legal advice but I don't want to get ripped off scammed by these, no win no fee firms. I want someone to do the best job for us.
Any help and advise would be most appreciated.
Thanks again.
MJB

What loss are you claiming for?0

If you type your query into google (I entered claim compensation for new road), there's the gov.uk website that tells you how to claim and there's a booklet that tells you if you're eligible to claim.
You can claim if the new road causes issues around: noise, vibration, smell, fumes, smoke, artificial lighting.
You can't claim for loss of view or privacy, personal inconvenience and issues from construction of the road.0 -
We used to get a discount in our Rates due to our proximity to the M6. Poll Tax came in and that went out the window. Changed back to Council Tax and you've guessed no discount with that either.0

Lets cut to the chase, how much are you after?0
