Horizon ANPR Parking Ticket

Hi all,

Been reading various threads regarding the same topic, but just wanted to put a post of my own out to get some direct feedback.

Back in September I was driving my partner's car into a supermarket car park, I usually use this to get to a nearby studio to rehearse and was surprised when my partner received a ticket after many times parking there before...

Long story short, they had recently installed ANPR parking with Horizon and begun issuing overstay tickets. I am usually within the 3 hour limit, however on this occasion according to the ANPR was 12 minutes overdue..

My partner initially appealed to Horizon but was rejected, we have now received a debt letter from DRP for collection of £182 (original fine was £80)

Where do I go from here, carry on to ignore or go to POPLA?

Many thanks,

You can't go to POPLA if you ignored the POPLA code on that rejection letter.

Not sure what else you need to know, given post #4 of the NEWBIES thread. We never chew over tedious 'nothing' debt collector stage.

  • Debt collector stage - the joy! Ignore but don't bin the letters, and definitely check out Post 2 on the NEWBIES thread to see what a Letter Before Claim looks like, just in case the fancy trying county court.

You already have it (unless you are on a phone). My signature told you where to click.

I never provide a link to a sticky thread on the very forum you've posted on! You were there looking at it when you hit new thread.... Amazed people don't read the top threads, including one begging newbies to read it first.

If you are trying to view this forum on a phone - STOP.

  • if the case does go to court, and worst case I lose, is there any idea what I'm likely to pay? Is it more or less than what DRP are demanding?

About the same as what DRP are currently demanding if you lose.

I thought you were planning on winning? :D

Do you even know whether this case is going to court or not?

I suggest you give up any idea of paying anything until a County Court Judge tells you to.

There is absolutely no risk of anything nasty happening if you follow the guidance freely given here.
  • Is your partner a regular customer of the supermarket ?

If so Google the email of the CEO and send a polite complaint asking for cancellation as advised in the NEWBIES.
